Private Bankers and Investment Banking? Active in investment banking for over 100 years.

We see ourselves in the line of the old established merchant banks. Since late 19th century Georg Hauck & Sohn have been active as financial advisers and as lead underwriter in the capital markets and played a preeminent role in supporting important German corporates such as Hoechst, IG Farben (1925) and Metallgesellschaft. We feel fully committed to this long tradition. In early 2009 Hauck & Aufhäuser, through its stake in Cazenove AG, Frankfurt, added a wider range of investment banking services to its competence in German-speaking Europe. In October 2009 Cazenove AG, Frankfurt, had separated from the JP Morgan Cazenove Group by means of an MBO. Cazenove is an English private bank based in London, founded in 1823, which became a leading investment bank in the London financial market.

With the expansion of the investment banking we have broadened our range of services to private family-owned companies, small and mid size stock exchange listed companies (small and mid caps), Private Equity firms and investor groups focussing on the "Mittelstand" and large corporates with "mid cap needs". Our membership in the Mid-Capital Network, an association of independent corporate finance advisers and investment banks, gives us access to highly professional partners in all of Europe, in the US and Asia. We are working within an owner-led business model, based on independence and a focus on the middle market ("Mittelstand"). Our commitment to our clients means independent quality advice, free from conflicts of interest, firmly based on a thorough and comprehensive knowledge of the financial markets.  Accordingly, we are active in the capital markets exclusively as agency brokers, do not trade securities for own account and are not engaged in derivatives.
